Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred introduces tons of new content for players to enjoy. A new expansion brings a new campaign, new end-game challenges, and a brand-new class you may be interested in playing! Whether you’re trying out the new Spiritborn class, re-rolling for the sake of a new story, or skipping the campaign on a new character, you’re going to have to level up quickly to take full advantage of what Vessel of Hatred has on offer. There’s many ways to get there, but some are better than others. Read on to learn how to level up fast in Diablo 4.
Raise the Difficulty
This seems like a no-brainer, but when you’re running through the campaign or completing dungeons in bombastic fashion, you tend to forget about the rewards a higher difficulty can offer. Increasing the difficulty beyond Normal in Diablo 4 will increase the amount of experience enemy kills give you. If you’re intimidated by higher difficulties or if it’s your first time playing, think of harder difficulties as milestones for your gear progression. In Diablo 4, the gear you earn greatly enhances your abilities beyond what’s necessary for the base difficulties. Before you know it, you’ll start to mow down enemies in less than five seconds. Not even bosses are going to give you any trouble!
Take this as a sign to elevate the difficulty by one tier, go back out into the world, and test the waters. If you’re still rolling through battles like a bowling ball through a set of pins, keep tweaking the difficulty until you hit a comfortable challenge. The experience and gold boosts will greatly accelerate your leveling, and the harder difficulty will keep encounters fresh and exciting to boot!
Participate in the Helltides
Helltides are basically Diablo 4’s hyper mode. When in a region affected by the Helltide, enemy spawns are drastically increased, and on defeat will drop Aberrant Cinders. Defeating a nonstop horde of enemies is a good way to generate experience, but the real prize of Helltides are the chests you can open with the cinders you collect. These reward you with great loot, but also offer a huge boon of experience points. The constant barrage of enemies in Helltides coupled with the bonuses offered by opening chests can level your character up in no time.
Use Your Elixirs
On your adventures through Sanctuary, you’re bound to pick up a few elixirs. Elixirs offer a variety of buffs and bonuses, but the best part about them is the experience boost they provide. It doesn’t matter which elixir you use; they all give experience boosts for thirty minutes. Using elixirs will speed up your leveling regardless of what you’re doing, so they’re extremely helpful no matter what activities you choose to partake in.
Complete Side Quests
Although not as fast as Helltides, side quests in Diablo 4 offer a good amount of experience. Completing side quests will boost your renown in a region, pushing you towards bonus experience points. Some side quests are triggered by picking up key item drops, so keep an eye out for those! Completing these quests is as simple as turning the item in to the related NPC, making it an easy experience handout.
Stack the Deck
There’s no reason you can’t bump up the difficulty, pop an elixir, run to the nearest Helltide region and pick up every side quest in the area. Layering activities and bonuses on top of each other in this way will grow your leveling rate exponentially. If you already have it unlocked, feel free to incorporate Tree of Whisper activities into the mix as well!
