XDefiant is finally out after many numerous delays and closed tests. However, as you might expect, this free-to-play online FPS title has a couple of issues right out of the gate. One of the worst ones players are getting is a matchmaking problem, which makes it so players are unable to find a match in XDefiant.
XDefiant “Unable to Find Match” issue, explained
This particular issue in the game happens when players try to queue up for one of the matches online. It doesn’t matter which one of the game modes you choose, which platform the player is on, or anything like that. They will get an error message letting them know they are unable to find a match at this time.
Contrary to what the message seems to hint at, there are definitely possible matches. After all, there are other players also looking for online matches. The problem, instead, has to do with the server status and launch issues with the game. These are preventing players from being able to connect to others for matches.
How do I handle the XDefiant matchmaking issue
If you happen to get the XDefiant matchmaking issue that makes it so you are unable to find a match, there are a few steps I recommend you try to address this problem on your end:
- Check for an update
- Restart the game
- Make sure you are able to play other online games on your console or PC
- Check the current server status
If you do all of these things and find the issue isn’t because of you, it is likely because of possible server problems, such as at launch. In the meantime, while we wait for a fix, it is worth reaching out to XDefiant support and submitting a report. In addition, it is worth trying out less popular game modes, like Ranked, in hopes of find a match in time.
XDefiant is available right now for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
