How to Get the Shishioji Mount in FFXIV

Added in Patch 6.45 in July 2023, the Shishioji mount is an extremely difficult mount to obtain in FFXIV. It either takes a lot of grinding or a whole mountain of Gil. Basically, it’s time for another trip to Mount Rokkon if you aren’t rich (in-game).

How do I get the Shishioji mount in FFXIV?

There are three methods of obtaining the Shishioji mount in FFXIV. The easiest, which isn’t actually easy at all unless you’re a multi-Gillionaire, is to purchase the Shishioji Flute on the Market Board. It sounds simple enough, right? Well, you won’t be able to buy it without around 40 million Gil. On my server, it’s currently selling for 44 million.

If you’re caught up with FFXIV content, then there are two ways to earn the Shishioji Flute for free. But unless you’re really lucky, it will require a lot of grinding, time, patience, and running the new Another Mount Rokkon Criterion Dungeon.

Each time you clear Another Mount Rokkon, a Treasure Coffer will appear. The Shishioji Flute has a very rare chance of spawning in this chest. Emphasis on very rare. But if it doesn’t drop, there is another option.

You’re also guaranteed four Shishu Coins from the Treasure Coffer, which, once you’ve gathered 100 of them, you can trade for the Shishioji Flute at Trisassant in Old Sharlayan (x12, y13.3). This means that you’ll need to clear Another Mount Rokkon 25 times to gain enough Shishu Coins for the mount.

Final Fantasy XIV is available to play now on the PC, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. A paid subscription is required. The Reference Emote is another item that you can trade for at Trisassant.
