Final Fantasy XIV’s latest dungeon extravaganza is Mount Rokkon, the next in the line of Variant Dungeons you can explore in the game. Like past ones, you can choose your path through the dungeon in each run, resulting earning rewards like the Burabura Chochin mount in FFXIV.
How to Unlock the Burabura Chochin Mount in FFXIV
Unfortunately, you’re going to need to do a bit of grinding if you would like to earn the Burabura Chochin mount in FFXIV. First and foremost, you’ll need to unlock Mount Rokkon. To do this, speak with Shallow Moor in Old Sharlayan at (X:12.0, Y:13.3) so long as you have spoken with him before and finished the Endwalker expansion.
From there, you simply need to run Mount Rokkon a lot. To get this mount, you need to earn all 12 of the exorcism records. You get these for each of the unique 12 paths you can take in Mount Rokkon. You’ll want to keep track of each decision you make during your runs.
I recommend making a document, taking screenshots, or writing down some notes. As long as you keep track, you should only have to do the dungeon 12 times, which is still quite a lot. But with some friends, you can get runs completed rather fast, so you should be able to do all of them in around 3-4 hours.
Once you finish all 12 paths and obtain all of the records, you’ll unlock the Mononopeke achievement. You get the Burabura Chochin Whistle as a reward for this, but it isn’t automatic.
You’ll have to manually open up the Achievements tab in the main menu and navigate to this particular achievement. Click on it and you’ll have the option to receive the whistle. Use the whistle, and you’ll have permanent access to the Burabura Chochin mount from now on.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC, and will release for Xbox in 2024.
