How to Get Star Wars Lightsabers in Lego Fortnite

Epic shared a massive Lego Fortnite update in celebration of Star Wars Day (May 4, 2024), leading to a bunch of content from a galaxy far, far away in each player’s world. This update comes with a ton of additions, including the ability to wield Star Wars lightsabers in Lego Fortnite, though that does takes time to unlock.

How do I unlock Star Wars lightsabers in Lego Fortnite?

Oddly enough, you can’t get a lightsaber through crafting or making it. Unless you are playing in sandbox mode, in which case you can just find the lightsaber in the “all items” section, it takes effort to earn one. Instead of crafting, you’ll have to be gifted the lightsaber in Lego Fortnite. To do this, you need to start the Star Wars crossover event and head to the new island.

From there, you need to locate the rebel outpost and start upgrading it. The goal here is to get the outpost to level six. This requires building the Rebel Farm, creating the Stable, defeating 10 Stormtroopers nearby the new town, making a Rebel Workbench, and creating the Rebel Workshop. At this point, once you upgrade to a level six outpost, speak with Captain Bravara. She will give you a mission along with your first lightsaber.

How does a lightsaber work in Lego Fortnite?

Now that you have yourself a Star Wars lightsaber in Lego Fortnite, it is time to use it. It works pretty much like the swords in this survival game, just it deals much more damage. Holding down the attack button will have you swing it at foes. It doesn’t have a defensive block stance, so you’ll need a shield in your other hand for protection.

There are three different mythic lightsabers available in the game at this time. Players have access to blue, green, and red lightsabers for now. You can infinitely use a lightsaber, however it has a charge bar. Once the bar depletes, you can’t use it until you wait some time for it to recharge.

Lego Fortnite is available right now for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and mobile devices.
