Silver is essential in Hades II as it’s needed to upgrade your Main Weapons, amongst other things. Here’s how to get Silver in Hades 2 and how to use it.
How to get Silver in Hades 2
Silver is found in Ore Deposits in Erebus in Hades II. Ore Deposits appear randomly throughout Erebus and look like glittering piles of crescent moons. To get Silver from an Ore Deposit, hit it with a Crescent Pick by pressing RB on controller or E on keyboard. You can mine up to three Silver from one Deposit before its resources are depleted.
I’d recommend mining any Ore Deposits that you see in Hades 2, even if you don’t want any Silver or other ore, because you’ll never know when you’ll need it to unlock a tool, weapon, or Incantation. It’s better to be well-equipped than be caught short when you need a specific resource.
How to Unlock the Crescent Pick
To unlock the Crescent Pick in Hades 2, you must first unlock the Night’s Craftwork Incantation at the Cauldron at The Crossroads. This is done by using 1 Moly. Once you have it unlocked, the Crescent Pick will become available for purchase at the Silver Pool using 1 Ash.
How to use Silver in Hades II
One of the first things you’ll need Silver for is the Fated Intervention Incantation at the Incantations Cauldron at The Crossroads, alongside 2 Ash and 2 Moly. It’s also used at the Silver Pool to unlock the following early-game tools and weapons:
- Silver Spade – 10 Silver.
- Tablet of Peace – 5 Silver, 5 Psyche.
- Umbral Flames – 3 Silver, 3 Cinder.
- Moonstone Axe – 15 Silver.
- Sister Blades – 1 Silver.
I highly recommend unlocking the Sister Blades as your first Main Weapon, as it’s my favorite in terms of being able to zip around enemies and deal damage fast with its long-ranged special move. The other early-game Main Weapon choices are okay, but they’re nothing to write home about.
Hades II Early Access is available now on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
