How to Get Scarletite in Final Fantasy XVI

A lot of crafting materials in Final Fantasy XVI are ridiculously common. By the end of your run, you will have more Sharp Fangs, Steelsilk, and Wyrrite than you’ll know what to do with. Not to mention you can eventually buy some items, like Meteorites, from vendors like Charon. However, there are a few items that can get harder to find. So you won’t see an abundance of Scarletite like you do other resources in Final Fantasy XVI. However, it still isn’t too difficult to find.

How to find Scarletite in Final Fantasy XVI

I’ve found there are two rather reliable ways of getting Scarletite in Final Fantasy XVI. One is by completing quests. It can come up as a final reward or as a reward from a fight you’ll take part in during it. For example, it is one of the final rewards from the sidequest “Hot Water” in Dhalmekian Republic that you will see while in the region for the “Riddle of the Sands” mainline quest. The Notorious Mark Dozmare drops it during the “Blacksmith’s Blues” sidequest too. The latter of which is handy, as the Drakeslayer’s Belt requires it.

The other is by searching for and defeating Notorious Mark enemies in Final Fantasy XVI. A number of them drop Scarletite. For example, you can also get it from Fastitocalon, Holy Trumpitour, and The Ten of Clubs.

Final Fantasy XVI is available for the PlayStation 5. A demo is out now as well. There is a six-month exclusivity period.
