There are many status ailments players can acquire during their time in Baldur’s Gate 3. One of the most frustrating and hard to remove is Bloodless, which you are likely to get at a certain point in the main story. Fortunately, there is a quick way to get rid of Bloodless in Baldur’s Gate 3, if you know what to do.
How to Get Rid of Bloodless in Baldur’s Gate 3
Slight spoilers ahead, but Bloodless is a debuff that the player character will typically get early in the story after a certain cutscene with party member Astarion. It generally happens when you go to sleep at your camp early in the story, following a cutscene of Astarion sneaking up on you.
You find out that he’s a vampire here and he’s hungry for blood. At this point, Astarion requests for you to offer up some of your blood for him to devour and sate his hunger. You can refuse him and even kill him here, but you might want to offer a bit of blood to keep him around.
If you do this though, you’ll wake up the next day with the Bloodless status effect in Bladur’s Gate 3. This reduces your dice rolls, such as persuasion or intimidation, by one for the entire day. This can be frustrating, since dice rolls are already hard to deal with due to their RNG nature.
Your only option is to go back to camp and take a long rest using the full set of 40 supplies. If you do a short rest or don’t use the max amount of supplies, you’ll still have Bloodless when you wake up. If you have Astarion in your party, he will lose his Happy status effect at the same time, so he won’t be as effective anymore. Personally, I suggest getting rid of Bloodless as soon as you can.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PC and will release for the PS5 on September 6, 2023.
