How to Get Powdermelon in Stardew Valley

Powdermelon is one of the rarest crops for players can find and collect in Stardew Valley. Like other crops, you need to get the seeds first before you can grow it. However, the Powdermelon Seeds are quite the task to find, even with the many ways it is possible. Fortunately, I have your back when it comes to how to do just that.

How do I get Powdermelon Seeds in Stardew Valley?

Powdermelon is one of the new crops that was introduced in 1.6 and it is the Winter counterpart to some of the other crops like Broccoli and Carrots. What this effectively means is you don’t get Powdermelon in the same way as some of the other crops. You do still need Powdermelon Seeds but these are not easy to get. Alternatively, you can buy Powdermelon for 2,500g each from Pierre during the Feast of the Winter Star but I don’t recommend this.

You can get Powdermelon Seeds from the following activities:

  • Seed Spots
  • Golden Fishing Treasure Chests
  • Mayor’s Manor Prize Machine
  • Mystery Boxes
  • Crates and Barrels in the various dungeons
  • Iridium Golems Drops
  • Raccoon Requests
  • Raccoon Wife’s Shop (Costs 2 Pine Cones each)

Powdermelon growth time and season in Stardew Valley

Getting some Powdermelon Seeds is just the first step when it comes to acquiring some Powdermelon crops in Stardew Valley. You need to then plant, water, and grow them until they harvest. The Powdermelon Seeds take quite a long time to harvest, requiring seven days before you can get them. Worse still, as mentioned earlier, Powdermelon only works during the Winter season.

And there is another awkward part of the Powdermelon, too. Unlike its fellow 1.6 crops counterparts in the other seasons, Powdermelon doesn’t regrow. You have to keep planting more seeds if you wish to grow it some more. Fortunately, it does make up somewhat for this with its relatively high base selling price. You can make 60g off of a single base Powdermelon and it can get very high from there.

Stardew Valley is available right now for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
