How to Get Platboom in LOZ Echoes of Wisdom

Platboom is an incredibly helpful echo that you should aim to get early on in your adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. In this guide, we explain why Platboom is one of the best echoes in the game when it comes to exploring the map and where you can find this creature so you can learn its echo sooner rather than later.

Why is Platboom Helpful in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?

It would be best to prioritise getting Platboom as soon as possible because it will allow you to reach higher platforms. On top of Platboom is a flat surface that you can jump onto. From here, Platboom will raise itself up and down, allowing you to reach previously inaccessible areas.

For example, to reach the Faron Wetlands, you will need to be able to jump on the vast trees blocking your way, as there is no traditional pathway. But if you use Platboom, you can jump onto the big trees and explore this area.

With Platboom in conjunction with the Trampoline, you could hypothetically explore the whole map without progressing too far within the main storyline. If you place the Trampoline on top of the Platboom, it can give you even more height. You can find the Trampoline in the Suthorn Village right by the shop.

Platboom can also slam down onto opponents from a great height, making it a great echo in specific combat scenarios, especially early on in your adventure.

Where Can I Find Platboom?

There are two locations where you can find Platboom. The first one is while tackling the primary campaign during the “A Rift in the Gerudo Desert” quest. When you enter the Stilled Desert Temple Rift, looking for Tri’s companions, you will encounter several Platbooms. However, when you have completed this area, the rift will disappear, and you will no longer be able to learn Platboom.

The second location, which you can visit before an “A Rift in the Gerudo Desert” quest, is a small dungeon behind Gerudo Town. If you’re trying to reach this dungeon early in the game, we recommend using echo items like Beds and Trampolines. If you’re heading there later in your adventure, use echoes like Water Blocks to reach it far more quickly. We have taken a screenshot of the exact place you need to go.

When you walk down the ladder to enter the dungeon, you will come across two Platbooms. However, inflicting damage can be tricky, as only the yellow area, where the ominous one-eye lays, is vulnerable to attacks. You can lock onto the Platboom (by pressing the ZL on the Switch) and summon long-ranged echoes like Spear Moblin or Boomerang Boarbin to serve damage. However, this may take some time, as the creature constantly goes up and down, which makes it hard to aim at.

Alternatively, when the Platboom is on ground level, you can turn into Swordsman mode and kill the monster that way. You will encounter a Piece of Heart if you continue going through the small dungeon and using the newly attained Platboom to help solve the puzzles.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is available for the Nintendo Switch.
