How to Get Pirates Day Rewards in World of Warcraft

You can only participate in Pirates Day on one day out of the year in World of Warcraft. On September 19, players can head to Booty Bay on the Eastern Continent. If you’re an Alliance player you can take a gryphon from Stormwind, and if you’re a Horde player just head to the Undercity and take bat. Or you can always fly there yourself once you’ve unlocked that feature.

Once you’ve arrived in Booty Bay, speak to Dread Captain DeMeza. She’ll be on the southwestern most roof in the small port town. You can purchase a “Big Bag of Booty” for 300 gold, which is an item that lets you throw gold on the ground. It isn’t a Toy, and is a one use item. Meaning if you want to do it again you’ll need to purchase another Big Bag of Booty.

Additionally, as of 2023 she also sells a customization option for your Highland Drake mount. However it will cost you around 50,000 gold, which is pretty pricy as far as cosmetics go. Other items you can purchase from her are Volatile Rum, which will get your character extremely drunk (try to type after drinking the rum, it’s a hoot) and a feather to summon Petey the Parrot. Both are single use items.

Dread Captain DeMeza will also have a quest for you to pick up, but definitely speak to her and raise a drink in her honor to nab an achievement. Accept the quest “You’re Going to Need a Bigger Boat,” to start the chain and get your reward, which is five Emergency Pirate Outfits. This will just change the attire of your character to something, well, more pirate-y. And those are all of the rewards for Pirates Day in World of Warcraft!

World of Warcraft and The War Within expansion are available for PC.
