Life is Strange: Double Exposure is an absolutely superb narrative-driven adventure that delivers many heartfelt moments and unexpected twists. However, while you’re enjoying the glorious story, you may find yourself missing collectables along the way. There are 20 polaroids to collect, after all. In this list, we will tell you how to get every single one to unlock the Archival Footage achievement for Life is Strange: Double Exposure. How do I get all the Polaroids in Chapter One?
Polaroid 1
A Drink to Remember
The first polaroid is right after you’re conversation with Safi at the Snapping Turtle, where you decide what happened in Max’s past. Safi will encourage you to flirt with the bartender, Amanda, and you’ll be free to roam around the bar. From where you are, head to the left, past the two students called Reggie and Diamond. The polaroid will be on the wooden table by the cow painting.

Things Are Looking Up
This is one of the easiest polaroids to miss in the entire game. The whole crew decides to go to a rooftop to star gaze, but the event abruptly gets called short when Safi dashes out to answer a phone call. After taking a photo, Max develops a sharp migraine and decides to leave as well. When she goes outside, follow the path, and you will eventually stumble across an intercept. Head up, and you will find the polaroid on the ground, away from the snow. Do not head to the right before picking up the polaroid because this will instigate the next part of the story.

Upstairs, Downcast
This is the last polaroid to collect in Chapter One. After the devastating news of Safi’s death, Max has buried herself away in her home for several days. Max receives a text from Amanda, saying she’s heading over to Max’s place to check up on her. Isn’t that nice? Max will then have to clear up her living space before Amanda arrives. Before sorting out the mess that the apartment has accumulated, you will want to pick up the polaroid that is downstairs by the telescope.
How do I get all the Polaroids in Chapter Two?
Polaroid One
Table for Three (Living Timeline)
At the beginning of Chapter 2, Max chats with Safi and Yasmin at the Snapping Turtle. However, she does not concentrate too much on the conversation, as she is shocked to find Safi alive. After some investigation, Max soon realises she has a new power, which allows her to hop to an alternate timeline where Safi is alive.
After you’ve talked to Safi and Yasmin for the second time, you can walk around the environment freely. Head to the right and go towards the table where Reggie and Diamond were previously drinking in Chapter One, and you will find the polaroid. You can also help the Timid Guy during this portion of the game.
Polaroid 2
By the Horns (Living Timeline)
Max decides to look for clues on who could be the mysterious perpetrator that threw the cow skull into Safi’s Car. From where you start outside the campus, head straight up until you come across several benches. The polaroid will be on the bench to the right.
Polaroid 3
Leaving Nothing Overlooked (Living Timeline)
Reggie will believe he saw his doppelganger at the overlook, so you’ll return to the dreaded location where Safi died to see if you can make any sense of what he saw. At the top of the overlook, the very first bench in front of you will have a polaroid. You can pick this up before and after your conversation with Gwen.

Avoiding Detection (Dead Timeline)
There is a lot of reality bending in this portion. A police investigator for Safi’s death will interrogate Moses, believing he is potentially responsible for the crime. Your mission is to retrieve the camera Moses took at the crime scene. When you’re in Moses’s office, head to the room’s left-hand corner, and you can jump to the dead timeline. Walk to the right, where the computer is set up, and you’ll find the polaroid.

Photo Finished (Living Timeline)
After retrieving the camera, Max will return to her place to examine the photo evidence. When you are in the living room, walk straight ahead to where the stereo and the CDs are placed, and the polaroid will be there.
How do I get all the Polaroids in Chapter Three?

Re: Verses (Living Timeline)
For a good portion of Chapter 3, you won’t initially come across any polaroids as it’s very story-focused. After you’ve spoken to Gwen in her office, you can walk around the Fine Arts Building. Head towards the coffee stand, and the polaroid will be by the tables with the green chairs in the left-hand corner.

Re: Verses (Dead Timeline)
After speaking to Yasmin, you’ll want to talk to Vinh to gain more information. When you reach the Admin Building, you will find the polaroid lying on the table where the red sofa is. While you’re there, you can also take a photo of the hedgehog on Vinh’s main desk, which will help towards the “Frame Fatale” achievement.

Re: Verses (Dead Timeline)
By speaking to Vinh, you’ll discover that Lucas is more involved than you initially assumed. After successfully sneaking into Lucas’s office, you will find the polaroid on the bookcase. This will be next to the golden typewriter on the right-hand side of the room.
Polaroid 4
Nobody Wants to Drink Alone (Living Timeline)
Max will reflect on how she used to like spending time alone. However, that may not be the case anymore. In this portion of the story, Max has the opportunity to grow closer to Amanda and Vinh. While you are at the good old faithful Snapping Turtle, head left, and the polaroid will be on the barrel stool. Make sure not to leave the Snapping Turtle before picking this one up. If not, you will not be able to return.

Heartbreaking & Entering (Dead Timeline)
When Max returns to her home, she quickly realises there is an intruder. Instead of heading to the darkroom, which will trigger the next part of the story, go to the huge window by the left, and there will be a polaroid by the lamp.
How do I get all the Polaroids in Chapter Four?

I Thought I Was the Only One (Dead Timeline)
When Chapter 4 starts, Max will be prompted to go upstairs to change her clothes. Before heading up the staircase, head back to the huge window by the left, and in the left-bottom corner, there will be a polaroid on the table by the red carpet.
Polaroid 2
No Party Like a Krampus Party (Dead Timeline)
The Snapping Turtle will be holding its annual Krampus party, where Max and Safi intend to implement their big plan of bringing down Lucus. By the entrance of the bar where the red sofas are, head to the right-hand corner near the paintings, and the polaroid will be in the seating area.

No Party Like a Krampus Party (Living Timeline)
If you head outside to the patio area in the Snapping Turtle, Lucus will be worrying about the speech he plans to give at the Krampus Party. The polaroid will be on one of the armrests of the green adirondack chair. Bonus information: if you want to return the cat to its rightful owner, you can scan the podcast leaflet by the patio door before heading outside the patio
Polaroid 4
Scatterbrain (Living Timeline)
This one can be super easy to miss if you’re not careful. A blistering storm will consume the area of Caledon University, and Max will need to head to the overlook. However, before you head there, walk towards the outside benches, and the polaroid will be on the one by the left. This is the same location where you found the second polaroid in Chapter 2.
How do I get all the Polaroids in Chapter Five?
Polaroid 1
Under the Oberstaion
Max will be in a time distortion where both dead and living timelines will no longer exist. Eventually, you will return to the rooftop, where you hung out with Safi and Moses in the very first Chapter. From the group of telescopes, head to the right, and you will find the polaroid on the railing. This is the exact location where you gave Safi the bottle cap.
Polaroid 2
Quit Stalling
In a huge surprise, you will be taken back to Blackwell Academy toilets, where Chloe was shot in the original Life is Strange title. Where the “I Hate Victoria Chase” graffiti is, you will find the polaroid stuck on the wall.
Polaroid 3
In the Snapping Turtle, head to the entrance area. There will be a wooden table with condiments and a stack of books. On the same table, there will also be the very last polaroid. This is also the exact table that Safi and Max drank at in the first Chapter. Everything goes full circle!

Life is Strange: Double Exposure is now available for PS5, Xbox Series X and PC on October 29, 2024. There’s no release window for the Switch version yet.
