How to Switch Coins in Pokemon TCG Pocket

There are many trainer accessories you can use to customize the battlefield, your deck, trainer info, and more to stand out among the many other mobile players. One way to do this is through your coins. Unfortunately, you have to play for a little while before you are able to access this particular feature, for whatever reason.

You need to reach level three as a trainer before you are able to customize and switch out your coins. Just keep opening up card packs and completing missions to reach this point. Once at level three, you want to pick the cards/decks option in the menu. It is the second symbol from the left at the bottom of the screen. Then pick any deck and choose “Accessories.” From there, you can swap out your coins. You can even have different coins for different decks if you like.

How to Unlock Coins Through the Shop

While you unlock the ability to switch coins at level three in Pokemon TCG Pocket, you may not actually have to use at this point. There are a couple of ways to unlock coins in this game, starting with the free ones. It seems you can get some coins through missions, leveling up, and deck rewards. However, these are rather far and few between.

The main way to get new coins is, for better or worse, through the in-game shop. The elusive Special Set 01 coin is one such shop option you can get with 12 Special Shop Tickets, which you get from trading in 3,600 regular Shop Tickets. Then if you become a Premium Pass member, you can also get the Mewtwo coin right now rather easily. Better yet, there is a one-time two-week free trial for the Premium Pass so it is possible to get this Mewtwo coin for free if you cancel the free trial ahead of time.

Pokemon TCG Pocket is available for free for Android and iOS.
