How do I get Cloud’s Buster Sword DLC from FFVII in FFXVI

Basically, you need to buy the $9.99 Echoes of the Fallen DLC or $24.99 Expansion Pass for FFXVI to get the Buster Sword in FFVII. Once you do and download that, load up the game. Head to the main menu in one of your save files. Press R2 or L2 until you get to the System section. At the very end of the list of icons is the Redeemable Items area, noted by a treasure chest icon.

By purchasing the add-on (or add-ons), you also get an Onion Sword, Buster Sword, and “Away (1987)” Orchestrion Roll. Hover over the Buster Sword, then press the X button to confirm and claim it on the PS5. It will then be added to your inventory.

Is the Buster Sword a good weapon for Clive in FFXVI?

Unfortunately, it’s not a sword Clive should be equipping if you’re in the FFXVI endgame. To compare, one of the later weapons you’ll get is Ragnarok, which has 325 attack and 325 stagger. To compare, the Buster Sword only has 160 attack and 160 stagger.

In addition, the Buster Sword can’t get any “better” than it is when you first acquire it. This is because you can’t head to The Black Hammer blacksmith and reinforce it. So its attack and stagger will always only remain at that point.

This means that it’s more of a novelty than anything, just like the Onion Sword included is also a 160 attack and 160 stagger weapon.

Final Fantasy XVI is available for the PS5, and the Echoes of the Fallen DLC is out now. A PC version and The Rising Tide add-on are also on the way.
