One of the most unique new items in Stardew Valley is the Mushroom Log. This odd craftable item allows players to acquire Mushrooms at an alarming rate no matter the season. As such, it can be a lucrative and highly valuable item if used on your farm. But getting a Mushroom Log isn’t as easy as you might think.
How do I get a Mushroom Log in Stardew Valley?
You are able to get a Mushroom Log through a couple of different methods. The first is the simplest but also the most random. You can get four Mushroom Logs at once by winning the seventh prize at the Prize Machine. In general, this has a 33% chance of happening each time you do the Prize Machine, so you’ll need luck on your side for this method.
The more reliable way of getting a Mushroom Log is to craft it yourself. You’ll need a level four Foraging stat to unlock its recipe. Once you do, you can craft a Mushroom Log using 10 Hardwood and 10 Moss. Hardwood is easily found by chopping down trees with a Steel Axe or better and Moss requires you to find moss-covered trees in the Spring, Summer, or Fall.
How does the Mushroom Log work in Stardew Valley?
The purpose of the Mushroom Log in Stardew Valley is to produce Mushrooms every four days. It is even faster if you have rainy weather at some point in those four days. In this case, it will only take three days to produce lots of Mushrooms. These Mushrooms are great for making recipes or even selling them for profit.
You can set up Mushroom Logs all around your farm if you want. This is even a viable idea for the Winter season since few crops are available then. The Mushroom Log works year-round in every single season and it is essentially permanent unless you decide to remove it from your farm.
Stardew Valley is available right now for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
