The Great Vault is an excellent way to get a high level piece of gear each week, but sometimes you won’t need or like your offerings, which is where the new seasonal token comes in. Here’s how to obtain the Algari Token of Merit, and where to exchange them, in World of Warcraft: The War Within.
How to get Algari Tokens of Merit in WoW: The War Within
When claiming your weekly reward from the Great Vault, sometimes you’ll find you don’t really need any of the rewards offered. Maybe you got a bad roll, or maybe you’re already geared to the nines and outclass the week’s offerings. In these situations, you can choose to claim your reward as a number of Algari Tokens of Merit instead, which can be exchanged for several more general rewards in WoW: The War Within. The exact number of tokens you can claim will depend on how many slots you unlocked, up to 6 tokens at once, and you can carry a maximum of 12 at a time on each character.
Where to exchange Algari Tokens of Merit in WoW: The War Within
Once you’ve got a few Algari Tokens of Merit saved up you’ll want to exchange them with Ardgaz, a vendor standing just next to the Dornogal Vault in WoW: The War Within. He can offer several rewards for your tokens including Gold, Valorstones and Harbinger Crests. His full inventory currently includes:
- Chest of Gold for 2 tokens – Grants 1000 Gold when used.
- Golden Valorstone for 1 token – Grants 75 Valorstones when used.
- Triumphant Satchel of Carved Harbinger Crests for 1 token – Grants 15 Carved Harbinger Crests when used.
- Celebratory Pack of Runed Harbinger Crests for 2 tokens – Grants 15 Runed Harbinger Crests when used.
- Nerubian Gemweaver for 6 tokens – Adds a gem socket to a Helm, Bracer, or Belt from The War Within Season 1.
Of particular note is that Nerubian Gemweaver for 6 Algari Tokens of Merit, which lets you add a gem socket to items different to those added by the Magnificent Jeweler’s Setting Jewelcrafters can make in WoW: The War Within. With the right gems, a socket in each item could mean a lot of extra secondary stats and potentially a nice boost to your damage or healing output. However, several players have reported that it doesn’t work on PvP gear, you’ll need a Vicious Jeweler’s Setting for that instead.
