How do I get Aldgoat Brown Dye in FFXIV?

Aldgoat Brown Dye is fairly easy to obtain in FFXIV, so don’t waste unnecessary Gil on the Market Board! Head to Little Solace in East Shroud (x22,y26), where you’ll find the Sylph Beast Tribe.

The Sylph Vendor here sells Aldgoat Brown Dye, but won’t stock it until you’ve reached Recognized Reputation with the Sylph Beast Tribe. You do this by completing Daily Quests given to you by Tonaxia (x22,y26).

Once you’re at Recognized Reputation with the Sylphs, the Sylph Vendor (x22.3,y26.3) will stock various dyes, including Aldgoat Brown Dye. You can purchase it for 216 Gil apiece.

How do I use the Aldgoat Brown Dye in FFXIV?

Once you’ve got your hands on the dye in Final Fantasy XIV, you can use it to change the color of your clothes. To unlock this feature, complete the ‘Color Your World’ side quest for Swyrgeim in Vesper Bay, Western Thanalan (x12.6,y14.3). You’ll need to be at least level 15 to do so.

Right-click on the gear you’d like to dye in either the Armory Chest or the Character menu, then choose ‘Dye’ to bring up the Dye menu. Select the Aldgoat Brown Dye, then ‘Dye’ once more to apply the dye to your selected gear. And that’s it!
