So how do I get a Glider in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

To get the Glider in Tears of the Kingdom, all you need to do is progress the main story until you reach the “Crisis at Hyrule Castle” quest. This isn’t very long at all, depending on how much you explore the Sky. (can we call it Skyrule?) If you’re like me, you’ll want to spend hours diving into every nook and cranny the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has to offer. But hold your horses, because the Paraglider really does make a big difference. It’s worth waiting a little bit longer for.

During “Crisis at Hyrule Castle,” you’ll report to Captain Hoz at Hyrule Castle. Then return to Purah at Lookout Landing, who is a familiar face if you played the previous title. She will teach you all about Skyview Towers and finally gift you with the Paraglider as a reward for your efforts. Hell yeah.

How do I use the Paraglider in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

Using the Glider in Tears of the Kingdom is simple. When you’re somewhere high or near a gap that you want to cross, jump off the edge and quickly press the X button (or the B button if you inverted your controls in the Settings). Link will whip the glider out and start soaring. It’s that easy! You can dive to reach the ground faster by pressing the R button. But don’t forget to glide once you’re near the bottom, or you’ll die from fall damage.

If having the Paraglider wasn’t fun enough, you can change its appearance by visiting the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno Village. There you’ll need a pay a small sum of 20 Rupees to change its look. You can collect various glider fabrics by scanning amiibo or completing different tasks in the game, such as certain side quests, registering a horse at a stable, or making a purchase at specific vendors.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was released exclusively on Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023, and is available physically and digitally now. There’s even a Collector’s Edition for all you Zelda sickos!
