Black Myth Wukong will open up a lot of different avenues to take down challenging foes. One such option is available through Guidance, which will allow you to temporarily take the form of (or effectively summon) some of the most dangerous foes you’ll encounter in Black Myth Wukong. This guide breaks down how to obtain Guidance, and how to recover any lost Spirits you may have encountered.
How to Gain Guidance in Black Myth Wukong
Chances are if you’re wondering how to gain Guidance, you’ve beaten an optional boss. Defeating Guangzhu won’t require you to obtain Guidance to acquire the Transform skill, but Guidance is used for a completely different ability.
Guidance will allow you to temporarily take the form of an enemy you have defeated and acquired the Spirit of. For example, defeating the first optional boss, which is a massive monk-type being, will allow you to absorb its Spirit (or Soul) to use it in battle. You can do this for several other enemies, not just bosses. The second chapter will allow you to obtain the Spirit of a Bat Yaoguai, which is more or less just a standard enemy.
In order to obtain Guidance you will need to defeat Lingxuzi and progress to the next area of Chapter One. From here, you will meet and NPC; a strange calligrapher than will assist you in obtaining this ability. Upon learning this, you can head to any shrine to obtain any Spirits you might have missed. So don’t worry if you weren’t able to acquire a Spirit that might have dropped. They won’t be lost to the aether.
Again, this opens up another ability, which is yet another tool to use on your journey as the Destined One. Not all of these abilities are equal, and you can change which Spirit you have equipped in your Inventory menu. These can be switched at any time, but swapping them out will require them to refresh before using. You can circumvent this by going to a shrine and resting.
Black Myth Wukong is available for PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X.
