How to Finish the Like a Dragon: Ishin ‘A Man and His Sack’ Substory

One of the more frustrating substories in Like a Dragon: Ishin is “A Man and His Sack,” and that’s because it isn’t immediately able to be completed like so many others. Rather, you need to return multiple times. As such, you might find yourself coming back in multiple chapters in order to carry it out. However, getting through it is a matter of diligence.

How to Complete the Like a Dragon: Ishin Substory “A Man and His Sack

I first happened upon “A Man and His Sack” in Like a Dragon: Ishin in chapter 3. On the street behind the General Goods store in Fushimi is a restaurant in Yashikimachi selling inari sushi. Ryoma has the option to line up by choosing “All right, let’s try it.”

He won’t get the sushi.

From there, you’ll need to go through the rest of chapter 3. Your next opportunity will be to visit at the beginning of chapter 4, after finishing with the Shinsengumi. Ryoma can again wait in line.

He won’t get the sushi.

Finally, after sleeping at Teradaya and a new day starting, you can head back to the inari sushi restaurant in Fushimi at your leisure. If you have Ryoma line up for sushi again, he’ll finally emerge victorious.

What is Inari Sushi?

Inari sushi is actually a sushi that you can find pretty easily, and it is one that even people who aren’t fans of fish might enjoy. It first starts with sushi rice. A bit of it is put inside of deep-fried, seasoned tofu. There are some variants that can feature additional ingredients inside with the rice, like roe or even fish, but it can be more simple too.
