How to Find the Dread Comet Notorious Mark in Final Fantasy XVI

Many Notorious Marks show up in Final Fantasy XVI, and Dread Comet is one you should really consider finding. This is because it is tied to the recipe from “Blacksmith’s Blues III.” Defeating it gets you a necessary part for a new belt for Clive.

So where’s the Dread Comet Notorious Mark in Final Fantasy XVI

So in general, Comet isn’t too difficult to find! However, when it came up during the “A Song of Hope” mainline quest, I hadn’t actually been to that part of the Dhalmekian Republic map in Final Fantasy XVI. Teleport to Dalimil and head south. There will be a part where the path branches off in three ways. If you take the middle path, which I highlighted with the cursor in the screenshot below, Dread Comet the Chocobo will be right there.

Dread Comet is a level 38 enemy. I was at level 37 when I encountered it and managed to get by. You don’t need to worry about shattering its defenses. However, it is the peak of Chocobo performance. This means you need to worry about both Choco Meteor and Choco Meteorain attacks.

Once the battle is done, you get 5,300 EXP, 90 AP, 13,000 gil, 30 renown, and a Comet Feather.

Final Fantasy XVI is available for the PlayStation 5. There is a six-month exclusivity period.
