How to Find Game ID in Core Keeper for Multiplayer

One of the best parts about Core Keeper is the ability to play with others online around the world. Like other survival games, you are able to play with up to eight players in a single world at once. However, if you would like to engage in online multiplayer, you’ll need to find your Game ID in Core Keeper first.

Where to Locate Your Game ID

The Game ID isn’t easy to find, even with the 1.0 full release. To locate it, you need to find a specific folder on your computer on PC. Here is the default general destination where you can find the Game ID:

  • C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/core-keeper/GameID

To find this particular folder, I recommend going to Steam and then the game’s properties. From here, you should be able to locate the game’s install folder. Then you should be able to locate the folder above more easily. This is especially helpful for those on Steam Deck like myself since it places general game folders in different spots than on PC.

What to Use the Game ID for in Core Keeper

The point of the Game ID in Core Keeper is to allow you to play multiplayer online. Whenever you want to join someone else’s game, you usually need to insert their unique Game ID. This is really annoying and I totally get it. Fortunately, you can turn on the settings where you don’t have to use your Game ID for multiplayer.

In this case, what you want to do is have the person be friends with you on Steam and join your game from there. Alternatively, you can just invite them to your game for them to join. Up to eight players can be in the same world together.

Core Keeper 1.0 is now available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It will also release for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One on September 17, 2024.
