The Cactuar are about as synonymous with the Moogle and Chocobo in the Final Fantasy series. So it’s no surprise that they appear in Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. However, Cactuar serve a special purpose in the mobile game, as they are a relatively rare encounter that will yield extra rewards if felled. That is, assuming they don’t escape before you can deal the final blow. This guide will break down how to find Cactuar and how to kill them in FFVII Ever Crisis.
How to Find and Kill Cactuar in FFVII Ever Crisis
Cactuar can appear in Solo and Co-op Content, but generally at a pretty slim margin. This is because Cactuar are consider a “Rare Enemy,” as they drop extremely valuable Weapon Upgrade materials and other items. Which means that once you encounter a Cactuar, you will absolutely want to make sure you kill at least one of two that will appear in any given encounter.
You can find Cactuar in the following Solo Quests:
- Weapon Quests
- Training Quests
- Synthesis Quests
- Premium Quests
You can find Cactuar in the following Co-op Quests:
- Co-op Battles
- Motor Ball
- Blue Dragon
- Mad Anchor
Killing Cactuar is another thing entirely. These enemies have a very large amount of HP, which can seem killing them before they flee seem daunting. However, it really isn’t all that difficult. Once they begin to cast “Flee” you need to break their defenses, which will stagger them and prevent them from escaping. You can absolutely have your game on Auto, which is actually what I suggest, and be able to kill Cactuar with little problem whatsoever.

Additionally, Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis does occasionally feature events where Cactuar where appear at increased rates. It’s suggested you use any excess stamina to farm any Solo or Co-op Quests to make the most out this period to get as many materials as possible.
