How to Evolve Poltchageist into Sinistcha in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Poltchageist is one of the new Pokemon that made its debut in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask DLC. However, you must obtain either the Unremarkable Teacup or Masterpiece Teacup item first to evolve it into Sinistcha, depending on which form you have. Here’s where to find the rare items and how to evolve Poltchageist in the Kitakami Pokedex.

Where to find Poltchageist’s location in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask

Poltchageist is located in the Mossfell Confluence region of Kitakami in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and can be found near bamboo trees. While the Ghost-type is a rare spawn in the southeast of Kitakami’s map, there is a guaranteed terrastallized Poltchageist static encounter in the northern section of Mossfell Confluence.

The quickest way to find the matcha-themed Pokemon is to travel to the Kitakami Hall fast travel point and then head east to cross over to the right side of the Mossfell Confluence lake. You will then spot the golden glowing Poltchageist roaming the overworld, which you can catch after knocking it out of its Tera form.

Now that you have Poltchageist, you will need to hunt down the Unremarkable Teacup or Masterpiece Teacup to evolve it into Sinistcha. Thankfully, the evolution items aren’t too hard to find once you know where to look. Below, we will break down the exact location where you can find them.

Where do I get the Unremarkable Teacup?

If you have Poltchageist’s Counterfeit Form, you’ll need the Unremarkable Teacup to evolve it. The Unremarkable Teacup is located in a cave in Kitkami’s Paradise Barrens in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

From the Crystal Pool, head northwest on the Kitakami map until you reach the dirt-filled canyon region. You will then see a cave located directly to the right of the Paradise Barrens signpost, which has the Unremarkable Teacup inside.

Where do I get the Masterpiece Teacup?

If you have Poltchageist’s Masterpiece Form, you can only evolve it using the Masterpiece Teacup. To find the Masterpiece Teacup, head to the Timeless Woods in the northeastern section of the Kitkami map. You’ll see a cave with a Snorlax asleep in front of the entrance in the south of Timeless Woods. Either battle or go around the Snorlax and enter the cave to find the evolution item.

Once you have the Unremarkable Teacup or the Masterpiece Teacup, open your backpack by pressing the X button on your Nintendo Switch controller. Next, find the evolution item in the Other Items tab, and then use it on your Poltchageist to trigger its evolution into Sinistcha!

Just like Pokemon Sword and Shield’s Sinistea evolution line, there is a Counterfeit and Masterpiece version of Polchageist. You can check which one you have by viewing its Pokedex entry. And if you look close enough, the Counterfeit one will have a small dirt mark on its underside.
