How to Evolve Nosepass in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Gen 3’s Nosepass and its evolution, Probopass, were added to Gen 9 in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask DLC as part of the Kitakami Pokedex. Getting Nosepass’ evolution isn’t as simple as just leveling it up, though, as it requires a special evolution method. Here’s how to evolve it into Probopass.

How do I evolve Nosepass into Probopass in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

To evolve Nosepass into Probopass in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you need to use a Thunder Stone. There are no minimum level requirements to evolve the Gen 3 Pokemon, so as soon as you’ve either caught or traded for one, you can use a Thunder Stone on your Nosepass to trigger its evolution into Probopass.

How do I get a Thunder Stone?

Getting your hands on a Thunder Stone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is easy. You can either find one on the floor in the wild, or you can buy one. If you’d rather buy one than hunt throughout Paldea or Kitakami, you can purchase one from a Delibird Presents store for 3,000 Pokedollars.

There are three Delibird Presents stores in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and all of them are in the Paldea region. There’s one in each of the three cities, which are Mesagoza, Cascarrafa, and Levincia. Look for a red storefront with a white Delibird logo.

If you don’t want to spend the money, the best place to find a Thunder Stone in the wild is in the West Province (Area One) in Paldea, where you’ll find a Thunder Stone on top of one of the windmills. If you’re in Kitakami, you can switch between maps by pressing Y to open the map screen and then pressing L or R.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and The Teal Mask DLC are available now on the Nintendo Switch.
