Yes, there is a literal boss baby players will face off against in Metaphor: ReFantazio. And it is also one of the most disturbing and terrifying bosses I’ve faced in a game in a long time. If you want to know how to defeat the shadow boss baby, Homo Jaluzo, in both of its forms in Metaphor: ReFantazio and its possible weakness, this is what you need to know.
How to Defeat or Escape the Shadow Boss Baby in Metaphor: ReFantazio
There are actually four different times you encounter the shadowy boss baby in the Martira Castle dungeon. The first two times involve sneaking around. You can either choose to avoid the boss’ eyes as you jump from pillar to pillar or you can let it see you and fight it. I actually recommend the latter since it gives you solid XP and rewards.
The third time you meet the boss, you have to run away. If you hit too many boxes during the scripted sequence, you’ll die and have to restart from the beginning. And then the fourth and final time is against the boss baby in its true form known as Homo Jaluzo. This is the real fight against it.
How to Defeat Homo Jaluzo Boss & Weakness Explained in Metaphor: ReFantazio
The real fight against the shadowy Martira Castle boss baby known as Homo Jaluzo will require you to understand its mechanics in Metaphor: ReFantazio. This boss will often stare at party members, which will make them more likely to miss attacks. This will lose you entire turns so have any affected party members guard or use items.
You can alleviate this once Gallica reveals that you can attack the eyes. Oddly enough, the eyes are separate targets and have different resistances. There aren’t too many main weaknesses I found when fighting Homo Jaluzo since the main baby has no weaknesses and I was overleveled. So, the main goal is to focus on the eyes, then finish off the baby. It should be much easier after the eyes are taken care of. The only other issue is Joanna may heal the baby once its HP gets low.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is available right now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
