How to Defeat Abstract Daddy in Silent Hill 2 Remake

The Silent Hill 2 remake sticks to the bones of what made the original great. However, some things have been adjusted to appeal to modern sensibilities. This includes boss fights, with the Abstract Daddy’s fight in particular receiving a lot of changes. You can read about how to defeat the Abstract Daddy in the Silent Hill 2 remake below.

How to Defeat the Abstract Daddy in Silent Hill 2 Remake

For those familiar with the game, the fight has changed significantly. Instead of being contained to a single room, players will be chased by the phallic monster through a series of winding corridors with sharp turns. The boss fight does have phases, which I’ll be outlining below. But overall, this fight is just as straightforward as the original. It just takes longer.

The first phase requires you to shoot or hit the Abstract Daddy until a chase sequence begins. During this phase you can hide behind walls, but this will only offer a temporary sort of defense, as the Abstract Daddy can break through them. Once you’ve done enough damage the fight will progress and telegraph what you need to do.

Once the chase sequence begins you will need to follow Angela. There is no way to get lost here, but you will need to break TVs on the way. You can’t miss them, as audio of Angela’s father comes out of them. And the fact that they’re on. Smash them and progress to the next chase sequence. Like before, just keep running until you see the a room with a fan.

Upon entering this room you’ll be in the final boss arena. Just unload all of your ammunition or hit the Abstract Daddy with your pipe to kill it. Abstract Daddy does have a few moves, one of which involves a lunging attack. Dodge this or you’ll take serious damage. I actually advise on using your rifle and shotgun ammo here. The Abstract Daddy is pretty powerful, and if you draw out the fight you might be using more health drinks and syringes than you’d like.

The Silent Hill 2 remake is available for PC and PlayStation 5. You can read out review here.
