What causes Palworld to crash on Xbox?

When you’re in a game like Palworld and exploring the map, a crash can be far more than just an inconvenience. We’re talking about potential lost data and ruined encounters if the crashes are frequent enough. Unfortunately, for Xbox players, this is exactly the kind of frequent crashes we’re talking about.

Xbox players have been reporting widespread crashes on both Xbox One and X Box Series X/S versions of Palworld. This is not the only issue Xbox players are reporting, with many saying the game is so unoptimized on console that it’s borderline unplayable.

There are also some claims that fast traveling or certain dungeons can cause the crashing. However, it’s really hard to get confirmation as it really seems like the issue is happening so frequently it’s hard to pinpoint a source.

Possible solutions for how to fix Palworld crashing on Xbox

Some players are diving into their settings, trying anything and everything to minimize the issue. Some settings involving the number of things that appear on the screen do seem to rectify the issue to a degree. For example, turning down the “pal appearance rate” has been said to reduce crashes.

This likely means the issue is one of optimization. Since the game seems to be mostly stable on Steam, the culprit is probably the game drawing too much from the console and crashing. Especially since lowering the number of things on the screen at once seems to alleviate the problem.

At the end of the day, this is clearly something on the developer’s end. The multiple stability issues on Xbox are a serious problem that many fans are getting more vocal about. Hopefully, a future patch from Pocketpair will solve this crashing issue and more.

I never like saying, “wait for a patch” when dealing with issues like these. However, it appears that pocketpair has served up an undercooked Xbox version of the game, and I think this is one case where I think it’s really going to be the only true fix.

Palworld is available now on Steam, Xbox One, and X Box Series X/S. It is also available on GamePass.
