How to Create a Necromancer in Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3 offers a plethora of different classes for players to enjoy and subclasses to go along with them. However, due to the nature of the character creator, players may not entirely understand which subclasses may be available upon leveling up. For example, the Necromancer subclass in Baldur’s Gate 3 is exclusive to Wizards. This means that players will need to get at least three levels in Wizard before they can live their necrotic dreams.

As mentioned above, players will need to obtain three levels in Wizard in order to unlock the Necromancer subclass. This means that anyone can become a Necromancer either if they would specifically like to only play as a Wizard or multiclass into Wizard. If you’re deep into the game and don’t want to create an entirely new character, you can always speak to Withers to change your class for the paltry sum of 100 gold.

Keep in mind that becoming a Necromancer in Baldur’s Gate 3 really isn’t the specialization you think it is. All the Wizard subclasses in Baldur’s Gate 3 do is make the cost of learning spells in that specific school cost a bit less. So even if you missed out on slotting into that subclass, it’s more or less for role-playing purposes than anything else.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PC and PlayStation 5.
