How to Craft Items in Creatures of Ava

The Creatures of Ava environment structure borrows beats from the Metroidvania genre. As you can imagine, having an arsenal of consumable items will massively benefit you. For instance, if you jump too far down from a steep height, you will lose health and can potentially die, and you will then respawn back at the last auto-save point and lose progress. If you carry health brews, you can hopefully avoid these situations, so even if you lose any health by falling off a platform, you can quickly recover. That said, you can also craft power-up drinks and antidotes in Creatures of Ava, and here’s how to get started.

How do I unlock crafting in Creatures of Ava?

You will need to start the “Warm Invitation” quest from Hon’lo, a story-related quest requiring you to gather three welcome branches, before you can craft in Creatures of Ava. You should find this mission during the first hour or so. The first branch you will need to obtain will be the western branch, which you will get from Bay’Rash. The location is west of the Arsira Village. If you’re having trouble finding the area, check the map and follow the path, as this provides a direct route to the location. (I shared a screenshot above to help.)

You will find Bay’Rash sitting underneath a rock in the shade beside the pond. After talking to Bay’Rash, you will then be able to craft items.  

How do I craft items in Creatures of Ava?

After the conversation with Bay’Rash, you will be able to use campfires scattered across the map whenever you like. Conveniently, there is a campfire behind Bay’Rash on the other side of the rock. These are essentially your crafting stations.

I’ve found the easiest item to craft is a Healing Brew, which will cost 6 green essence. You can find items to make brews by picking up natural resources within the environment. If you have not picked up any items until now, Palia’s Finger and Rosearem Petal contain green essence and can be found around the pond area near Bay’Rash.

Interact with the campfire, and make sure you have enough resources to craft the item. After you have created the item, showcase what you have made to Bay’Rash, and he will, in return, give you the western branch. You can then proceed to the next part of the story.
