How to Craft and Use a Pressure Plate in Lego Fortnite

Lego Fortnite has a few new items at its disposal, some of which make the survival crafting game even more similar to Minecraft. One such new item is the pressure plate, which allows players in Lego Fortnite greater freedom for how they set up various systems around their islands.

How do I build a Pressure Plate in Lego Fortnite?

A pressure plate is one of the best, more advanced items players can place around their island, and I recommend experimenting with them. If you want your island to stand out and have some of the most intricate automated systems around, this is the one for you. But, first, you’ll need to build a pressure plate. You don’t have to craft it using a crafting bench or anything like that, but you will need the right materials.

Here is what you need to build a pressure plate:

  • 1 wood
  • 1 blast powder

Wood is pretty easy to get from any nearby tree. However, blast powder is only found in treasure chests or from defeating cowboy skeletons. You can find these specific skeletons at night in the Dry Valley desert biome area.

What can I use Pressure Plates for in Lego Fortnite?

Once you are able to build a pressure plate in Lego Fortnite, it is now time to understand how it works. If you have played other similar games to this one, it is possible you already know what this does. Basically, anytime you apply pressure to this plate, it will activate and turn on whatever it is next to.

Applying pressure is as simple as stepping physically on the plate itself. The purpose of this is to activate something else, such as a nearby vehicle, door, or explosive. This is a great way to automate entering a house or turning on a vehicle without having to use any other buttons. Just know that once you step off of the pressure plate, its connected device will also power off.

Lego Fortnite is available for free for Android, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
