How to Complete The Great Detective questline during the WoW Anniversary Event

You can pick up the quest after completing the previous Guest Relations questline sequence with the Tuskarr children. Like the first quest, you can pick up The Great Detective from Alyx who directs you to speak with Athelton Jones, a human sat over in the Story Time arena. He’ll give you a quest called The “Great” Detective in which you can begin your investigation for a missing guest called Herrkrop. Your first stop is a group of adventurers just to the north of Jones, who you can identify by the “Team Solid” title under their names. Talking to each of them unlocks new dialogue options with the others, so keep clicking between them and exhaust all your options.

You’ll find out Herrkrop likely went to the beach for a drink and will need to head south of the Anniversary Ground and east of where the Doomwalker world boss roams. You’ll find an abandoned deck chair which you can inspect to find Herrkrop went to the “other side” for better sun. Fly on over the grounds again to Wavestrider Beach and look for a camp by some trees and beached boats. Activate your clue-finding torch toy from the previous set of quests and you’ll discover Herrkrop’s corpse behind an NPC called Scrapes.

Jones will once again appear, and will offer some more ‘helpful’ advice. Talk to Scrapes, Nat Pagle, and Julia Henning further along the beach to get an idea of what happened. You should be nearly 100% on your progress bar, but if not hunt around with your torch out for piles of sand that may grant you clue progress. Once you’re at around 95% go back to Jones and accuse Scrapes of the murder. The suspect will flee the scene and you’ll be able to return to Alyx at the pavilion to finish the quest and get some Bronze Celebration Tokens.
