How to Complete Deck Dismay (The Case of Misfortune) in WoW

“Deck Dismay” is a hidden quest in WoW‘s 20th Anniversary event, and it is also the first objective of the “Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager” Achievement. Here’s how to start “Deck Dismay” and the location of all the Darkmoon Cards required to complete it.

How do I start “Deck Dismay” (The Case of Misfortune) in World of Warcraft

To start the “Deck Dismay” quest, first head to Alyx (63.03 50.25) in the 20th Anniversary area of the Caverns of Time. Click on the “Darkmoon Fortune Card” behind the box next to Alyx, then talk to her and select “I found this Darkmoon Fortune Card.”

Next, talk to Alphonse Constant (63.88 52.38) to the right of the Storyteller Stage. Talking to Alphonse about his missing fortune cards automatically starts the “Deck Dismay” quest. Since you found the Darkmoon card a few minutes ago, you’re already 10% of the way to completion!

Completing “Deck Dismay” will tick off “The Case of Misfortune” objective of the “Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager” Achievement. The first missing Darkmoon Card is Five of Fire, which is sitting between two barrels directly across from Alphonse at the Storyteller Stage.

The next Darkmoon Card is Two of Fire, located underneath a bench on the second-to-last row at the Storyteller Stage.

Three of Frost

The next card, Three of Frost, is almost directly behind the last previous. Walk over to the stairs to the right of Mount Mania. Three of Frost is well camouflaged on one of the steps.

Two of Air is on the Fashion Frenzy stage in front of Lilian Voss.

Seven of Fire

Seven of Fire is underneath the Fashion Frenzy stage, next to the dracthyr Black Market Guard. Yes, it’s also taken me this long to realize there’s a Black Market Auction House under here.

Three of Fire

The next Darkmoon card is Three of Fire, behind the outhouse between the portals and Pet Battle stage.

Four of Earth

Four of Earth is in front of the rock to the right of Dolly and Dot’s wagon, near the exit into Tanaris. They’re Meerah’s best friends, have small teeth, and love to eat!

Eight of Fire

Next up is the ice rink, where Eight of Fire is waiting for you behind Brivelthwerp’s ice cream machine.

Six of Fire

Assuming you picked up Six of Frost first, the final missing Darkmoon card is Six of Fire, on the right side of Leeroy Jenkins’ chicken stand. It’s tucked between the wooden stand and curtain parts of his shop.

In case you started Deck Dismay with a different card, Six of Frost is behind Alyx’s crate in the center area.
