As you play through the Finest Duel Under the Pristine Blue Part II Trailblaze Continuance missions in Honkai: Star Rail, you’ll encounter the “Alone in Peril” quest. In this quest, you take control of Jiaoqiu after Hoolay and Mok Tok take him prisoner. While it’s straightforward enough to clear, there are two ways that this story quest can end.
How to Unlock “Alone in Peril” in Honkai: Star Rail
In order to unlock the “Alone in Peril” quest in Honkai: Star Rail, you must be Trailblaze Level 21 at the minimum. As well, you must complete Finest Duel Under the Pristine Blue Part I before you can start any quest in this Trailblaze Continuance chain. Very soon after you start, you’ll get the “A Web of Pasts Rewoven” quest. You’ll know you’re playing this one because you get to control Lingsha as she investigates the Shackling Prison. After you complete her chapter, the game will automatically boot you into Jiaoqiu’s point-of-view, which will start the “Alone in Peril” quest.
The Two Endings in “Alone in Peril”
As mentioned earlier, this is a very straightforward quest. There are two main things to do:
- Head to the Dock Area (and talk to the Suspicious Ferryman)
- Return to Hoolay
While heading to the dock, Jiaoqiu has the opportunity to approach three different NPCs for help. The game marks them on your map. When you talk to the Cloud Knights Soldier, the Realm-Keeping Orderly, and the Starskiff Pilot, you have the choice to ask them for help. The game makes it very clear, however, that doing so may incur severe consequences. Choosing the red dialogue in the conversation with these NPCs will doom them. After you return to Hoolay, Hoolay will permanently kill them as an example to Jiaoqiu.
If you don’t talk to anyone, or you don’t ask them for help, the ending will be different. Jiaoqiu will simply return to Hoolay and they have a tense little conversation before they move on. There aren’t any achievements to get or miss from this quest, so the outcome of the quest is up to your personal preference.
