How to Complete ‘A Forced Hand’ in Octopath Traveler 2

There are often side stories in Octopath Traveler 2 where you can hear a hint about one from someone involved. However, you can’t do anything about it until you actually reach that other point in the world. These tend to be fairly obvious, though you just need to make a note of where everyone is. This is exactly what happens with “A Forced Hand” in Octopath Traveler 2, as you might meet Margello in Montwise before you do Tiffany in Timberain.

To kick off the quest, you first need to talk to Tiffany. She’s in the Timberain Castle: Town Square area, in the upper right side of the plaza. When you speak to her, she’ll complain about her parents arranging a marriage for her. She’ll mention Margello in Montwise.

From there, you need to head to Montwise on the other side of the world. You’ll find Margello and his attendant if you head straight to the back of the Montwise: Library after walking past the librarian at the desk. If you use someone who can guide or befriend, like Ochette, you can add him to your party. (You need three Quality Jerky on hand, if you use Ochette to bring him along.)

To finish “A Forced Hand” in Octopath Traveler 2, immediately head back to Timberain and speak to Tiffany while Margello is with you. This will trigger a brief event. You’ll then get 15,000 leaves and a Mental Belt for helping out.
