The Fall Templein Moonstone Island in a very important location. It is one of four seasonal temples containing plot important elemental seals. Like the other temples, this will require you to leave offerings of specific items before fighting an especially tough boss at the end.
Where is the Fall Temple in Moonstone Island?
The Fall Temple in Moonstone Island is directly south of the island, marked by a giant mushroom near the observatory.
Despite the sky islands being mainly randomly generated, the Temple can be found in fixed locations. Head directly south of Moonstone Island, from the western side near the observatory. You’ll need to travel two island lengths, and you’ll encounter the island marked by a giant mushroom. This is the temple.
Due to the distance and because it’s not guaranteed that there will be islands for you to stop at in between, this journey is best handled with the Glider. You can make one at the Moonstone Enchanter.
Where Do You Find the Fall Temple Items in Moonstone Island?
Like all the temples, you need to leave items at various altars throughout the temple to progress. There are three altars – one at the entrance and two in the temple at key points.
The entrance altar requires a Grumpkin and a Spiky Plant. These are both plants found in Fall on Poison islands. The Grumpkin looks like a pumpkin while the Spiky Plant looks like a round cactus. If you’re lucky, you may be able to find them on the island just outside the temple.
The first altar after beating the first Snaplant asks for a Concoction and an Iron Sheet. You’ll need to make both yourself. You’ll need an Alchemy Lab to make Concoctions, which are made by combining two plants with Ash (made by burning Wood in a Furnace) and an Empty Bottle. You can also find Concoctions randomly in chests from dungeons and buried treasure. To make an Iron Sheet, you’ll need an Anvil, which will allow you to mash 3 Iron Ingots into one of these.
The second altar asks you for Poison and a Moonstone. By this point in the game, you’ve likely already found a few Moonstones either lying around on islands or in chests. To get Poison, you’ll need to keep a Poison Spirit in your Spirit Barn and keep it fed. It’ll randomly drop this.
How Do You Defeat the Fall Temple Boss in Moonstone Island?
The boss of the temple is a Level 30 Snapdragon, accompanied by two Level 25 Snaplants. This boss fight is a frustrating one, because these three are designed to inflict an avalanche of poison on you and drain your health drastically. The Snapdragon inflicts a weakness to Poison on your entire party, while the Snaplants will passively add a point of the poison effect to your party each turn.
Due to how quickly the damage can rack up, it’s best to boost your party to a higher level for this fight. The best combination is a party containing a Fire and/or an Electric spirit to exploit weaknesses, and a Water Spirit loaded up with Regen cards to counter the effects of the poison. If you’re willing to wait until Winter to tackle this boss, Ice Spirits are also effective here. As well as their natural strength against Poison types, the Freeze status can be a useful way to reduce their damage dealing capability.
Moonstone Island is available now for PCs. A Switch version is in development.
