Where to Find Dark Spirits in Moonstone Island

Dark Spirits can be found on Dark element islands, which can be found at the edge of the map in Moonstone Island. While the position of the exact islands will change between saves, these islands usually appear near where the map ends. Mine appeared to the south-east of the main island, but this may vary for you. You’ll need a Glider to reach them, and even then your trip may require a few stops on islands with hot springs along the way to recover your stamina.

Dark islands are the endgame for Moonstone Island, as the largest of these islands will always contain a rift and altars to place the elemental seals obtained in the four temples. As a result, all the Spirits on these islands are high level, usually around level 60 or above.

Due to the high level of these Spirits, you will need to train up Spirits of your own to a similar level. If you’ve completed the four temples at this point, you’ll likely already have some that are close. For some additional help, taking at least one Psychic Spirit along will help as Dark Spirits are weak to Psychic.

Taking stamina recovery items is also a good idea, as Dark islands will gradually drain your stamina as you walk around them. While it is possible to craft protection against this effect, it will require you to capture at least one Dark Spirit first, so it won’t be helpful when you’re trying to capture your first.

Moonstone Island is out now for PC and Nintendo Switch.
