How to Break Vampire Survivors with a Pentagram Build

Vampire Survivors is at its most fun when you’re so overpowered the game can’t keep up. So, let’s look at a Pentagram build in Vampire Survivors that can help you break the game to pieces.

Best Pentagram build in Vampire Survivors

Obviously, the build focuses on defense and letting a fully evolved Pentagram wipe the screen and let you mop up. For this, you’ll need the passive item Crown, too. Together, this allows you to evolve Pentagram into the Gorgeous Moon. The earlier you can do this in a run, the better your final results will be.

Since we’re going for defense, I recommend the combo of Garlic and Pummarola. I know this is controversial, as some people hate Garlic in this game. however, I like it, and pairing it with the health drip of Pummarola can net you some easy experience early into your run. King Bible and Spellbinder are also worth picking up. They can keep enemies off you and deal massive damage after being evolved into Unholy Vespers.

If you want some offense, you can go with Runetracer or Santa Water. Both of these deal damage without much input from you, which adds to our overall defensive/passive build. Runetracer, in general, is a great weapon for nearly every build. These weapons and passives can help you survive with little effort while wiping the screen of enemies every 15 to 30 seconds. I recommend using this build to evolve any last items or anything that requires an absurdly high level. This build can easily hit 100+.

Best characters for the Vampire Survivors Pentagram build

Christine and Poe are two characters to consider for this build. They start with Pentagram and Garlic, respectively. However, both of them have lower overall health. Although the idea of this build is not to let enemies get close, damage is mitigated. Since Luck helps out with early Pentagram levels, you could also look into characters with higher luck, like Ambrojoe.

One particularly broken version of this build involves Ghost Lino from the Vampire Survivors Emergency Meeting DLC. Ghost Lino can’t deal or receive damage normally, however, there are some exploits. Using the Arcana Sarabande of Healing will cause damage as the character heals. If you have points in Recovery in PowerUps, then this will allow Ghost Lino to cause damage.

Doing this will allow Ghost Lino to level up enough to get a fully evolved Pentagram, all while being completely untouchable. However, one downside of this build version is that it doesn’t output enough damage to kill larger bosses that Pentagram and Gorgeous Moon can’t wipe.

Vampire Survivors Emergency Meeting DLC is now available for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, mobile, and PC. The DLC is coming to Switch at a later date.
