How do I beat Sephiroth in FFVII Ever Crisis?

Thankfully, Sephiroth is a single-target fight. You will need to fight a few waves of enemies to get to him, so make sure to equip your single target Limit Breaks and strongest Summons. I suggest using Bahamut now that he is available, though generally Ifrit works just as well and he will be your highest level Summon if you are a low-level player.

Once you finally get to Sephiroth, make sure you have some kind of sustain. This is either through a character’s weapon or using Aerith, as she is still the only character that has a baked-in heal and revive. He hits like a truck, especially when he uses Octoslash, so prepare for the worst and swap into your Defensive Stance once you see his cast bar tick down for it.

After that, make sure you heal your party either through Cure or Curaga Materia, or with a healing ability. Make sure to equip Weapons and additional Materia that play into what Sigils will break him and make him vulnerable.

At higher difficulties you will absolutely need some kind of sustain, so I suggest bringing Aerith with you. Yuffie is also great for debuffs, since she can provide Elemental specific debuffs which can enhance the damage Summons like Shiva do, or powerful free Weapons you may have obtained from the Christmas or Summer event.

What are the best teams to use to beat Sephiroth in FFVII Ever Crisis?

Below are some of the best team compositions to beat Sephiroth:

  • Aerith, Sephiroth, Yuffie
    • This team provides solid single-target damage, but more than that due to Aerith’s Limit Break and most of her weapons, you’ll have solid self-sustain alongside Yuffie’s buffs and debuffs.
  • Aerith, Zack, Cloud
    • One of the best all-rounder teams in Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, you have solid support and healing from Aerith, and reliable DPS from Cloud and Zack.
  • Yuffie, Tifa, Aerith
    • One of the best teams in Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis when it comes to single-target damage and sustain. This team functions the same as the Sephiroth, Yuffie, Aerith combo, but Tifa provides a bigger punch since most of her skills are purely tailored towards offense.
  • Yuffie, Sephiroth, Zack
    • My personal go-to team. Yuffie is a great at providing buffs and debuffs with Zack and Sephiroth able to self-sustain. Not optimal for harder difficulties, but this crew makes quick work of Sephiroth.
  • Glenn, Yuffie, Zack/Sephiroth
    • While it lacks the same sustain as a team with Aerith, Glenn has some great buffs and his weapons work great with Yuffie’s. Zack is also a solid DPS but can also be switched out for Sephiroth in this case depending on who has the better weapons.

All of the tips and suggested party compositions will no doubt help you make it through the early and late-game Sephiroth fights. Keep in mind that tackling Sephiroth on his hardest difficulty isn’t exactly worth it, since lower levels will yield rewards faster and for less energy. So just keep that in mind if you’re looking to fight Sephiroth outside of event completion.
