How to Beat Red Elmenta in Metaphor: ReFantazio

Much like the Hand enemies in Persona, Elmenta like the Red Elmenta in Metaphor: ReFantazio have set weaknesses, will immediately run when given a chance, and give extra MAG, EXP, and rare items when beaten. However, because the instinct of it is to run and you must defeat one in a turn-based battle, it can be a challenge to knock them out quickly the first or second time you encounter one.

How do I beat a Red Elmenta in Metaphor: ReFantazio?

As its red color and names, Red Elmenta is the fire-type opponent in this line. This means that fire-based spells in the Bot line are pretty useless against it. What you want to do is ideally hit it with ice-based attacks. This means anything in the Blizz line is a good idea.

In addition to the EXP and MAG bonus you get from these fights, the rewards are pretty good as well. Especially early on in the game. The common type of drop is the Lava Crystal that lets you use a fire-based attack in a battle. The rare item is a Peridot you can sell for reeve in a store.

Note that while this is one of the early types of Elmenta you will encounter, it will constantly reappear as you travel in your runner and dive into dungeons.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. There is also a demo available.
