Persona 5 Tactica hits the ground running by having Panther, a fellow Phantom Thief brainwashed by the enemy, as the first major boss of the game. Here’s some tips on how to snap Ann out of that spell.
How to beat the Panther boss fight in Persona 5 Tactica
Panther is the first boss you’ll encounter in Persona 5 Tactica and represents a notable spike in difficulty. She is one of your own, brainwashed into serving the big bad Marie. It’s crucial to free her from this control so she can rejoin the party. You’ll need to go into the fight with some planning, though.
First, make sure Morgana and Erina have both learned a healing skill from their skill tree. Up until this fight, healing wasn’t a pressing issue, but here you’ll definitely want some coverage.
Panther begins the fight with several backup enemies, but nothing unmanageable. The real threat here is absolutely her. Additionally, a brainwashed Futaba supports Ann throughout the fight by healing her and her allies.
Not only does Panther hit harder then anything you’ve faced before, she has the power of her Persona Carmen. Her Agi attacks can inflict burn on your party members, putting you in a tight spot. You want to stay behind cover the entire fight. If you let Panther get a 1-More hit against a character, she can absolutely devastate them.
Start by wiping out the front line opponents. With them out of the picture, focusing on Panther and the enemies around her becomes easier. Panther has high defense, so you want to try to use the enemies around her to set up All-Out Attacks. Those attacks are the key to beat Panther in Persona 5 Tactica, especially if your aiming to do it within the optional turn limit.
Knock one away from cover with a physical attack or a Morgana Garu skill, then have another party member attack them while they’re out in the open. This awards a 1-More, and in the state you can position your party around Panther and the downed enemy for an All-Out Attack.
A couple of these mixed into your onslaught should be enough to take her down. Just keep behind cover, make sure not to forget about healing, keep the pressure on, and Panther should go down eventually. Then Futaba and Ann will be freed and happily rejoin the Phantom Thieves.
