How to Beat Nyx in Persona 3 Reload

Nyx is the final boss that stands between SEES and saving the world from the terrifying Dark Hour in Persona 3 Reload. This is one of the most challenging bosses you’ll face in the entire game. But don’t be afraid, as I have your back with everything you need to know about how to beat Nyx in Persona 3 Reload.

Nyx Weaknesses and Phases in Persona 3 Reload Explained:

First and foremost, it is worth noting that, as the final boss of the main story, Nyx has no weaknesses whatsoever. That said, the benefit of this is you can use pretty much whatever elemental attacks you want during the fight, except for light, dark, and the occasional element during certain forms. What you have to watch out for is her many phases, as Nyx takes on the idea of about 14 different Arcana.

Here they are in their exact order and resistances you need to worry about:

  • Fool
  • Magician: Drains fire, immune to light and dark
  • Priestess: Drains ice, immune to light and dark
  • Empress: Drains wind, immune to light and dark
  • Emperor: Drains electric, immune to light and dark
  • Hierophant: Drains strike, immune to light and dark
  • Lovers: Immune to wind, light, and dark
  • Chariot: Immune to slash, strike, pierce, light, and dark
  • Justice: Immune to fire, ice, light, and dark
  • Hermit: Immune to wind, light, and dark
  • Fortune: Immune to electric, fire, ice, wind, light, and dark
  • Strength: Immune to slash, strike, pierce, light, and dark
  • Hanged Man: Resists strike and pierce, immune to light and dark (cure your fear status immediately!)
  • Death: Resists all elements except Almighty, immune to light and dark

This is where it gets tricky. As you can see, Nyx is immune or resistant to every single elemental type except Almighty throughout the Persona 3 Reload fight. This also means your party members will likely be weak to one of the boss’ moves at some point, too. I like the team of Akihiko, Aigis, and Yukari for this one. That said, if you have Personas for healing and want to be the main healer, Ken isn’t a bad swap for Yukari. Akihiko and Aigis are both great for physical attacks, which are useful most of the time. But Aigis also has incredible buffs, which can make going through each health bar of Nyx much easier.

As for the Personas you want, you should be a high enough level in this game to have some of the best Personas around. These are the Personas you 100% should have for this tough fight if you can:

  • Messiah (you honestly don’t need another Persona with this one since you have healing and Almighty)
  • Orpheus Telos
  • Cybele (potentially the best pure healer in the game)
  • Satanael (if you happen to have the DLC but it isn’t necessary at all so don’t feel pressured)

Persona 3 Reload is available right now for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
