Tough mangos are an excellent ingredient for making smoothies in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and playing the mini-game Mango Rush is a superb way to farm these fruitful delights on mass. Some side quests will also require you to make smoothies, so having plenty of tough mangos on standby will be useful for your adventure.
Where Can I Find the Tough Mango Plant Lab?
You can play Mango Rush at the Tough Mango Plant Lab, which is located in the Oasis. It is conveniently right by the smoothie shop. If you’re having trouble finding it, we have provided a screenshot of where you will need to go below.
When you enter the Tough Mango Plant Lab, the researcher will inform you they have successfully created a method where seeds grow at a rapid rate, but they cannot harvest all the mangoes in time. They would be willing to reward someone if they could help with harvesting, which is where you come in. Although they may be looking for help, participating in a stage of Mango Rush will cost you 10 rupees. There are three levels at Mango Rush: Standard, Vibrant and Ultimate.
How Do I Beat the Standard Seeds Level at Mango Rush?
This first stage of Mango Rush is super easy as all the plants will grow on the floor. All you need to do is harvest 40 or more mangoes to take some home with you. The ground will momentarily shake before the plant will burst up. You will have a few seconds to dash over and harvest the plant before it withers away.
There are two methods of harvesting plants. The first is to enter Swordsman mode and slash the plant, which will consume unnecessary energy and is not the quickest approach. The second way, which we highly recommend, is to head towards the plant and then spin by pressing R on the Switch.
You will be rewarded with three tough mangoes if you complete this level. You will also unlock the next stage, vibrant seeds.
How Do I Beat the Vibrant Seeds Level at Mango Rush?
On the second level of Mango Rush, sharp thorns will sometimes appear, and if you run into them, you will momentarily be dazed and unable to move, which will lose valuable time in collecting mangoes. These thorns will often spurt out near plants, so you must be careful in what direction you spin.
Before taking this one on, we recommend equipping the Frog Ring, as some plants will grow on the higher platforms in both top-hand corners. If not, you must rely on using item echoes to reach them.
You will have to collect 50 or more mangoes to take any goodies away. When you are successful with vibrant seeds for the first time, you will also be rewarded with the Golden Fan, which you will need to complete all the Automaton’s side quests. In addition, you will gain five tough mangoes when you have completed this stage.
How Do I Beat the Ultimate Seeds Level at Mango Rush?
To unlock the last stage, ultimate seeds, you need to complete the two stages above and conclude the main storyline quest where you save Hyrule Castle from the Still World.
You will have to deal with sharp thorns and bomb flowers. The flower will literally have a bomb attached, and if you stumble into the explosive, it will detonate on you, dazing you for a more extended time. It might sound intense, but as long as you pay attention to your environment, you should be able to avoid them without too much of a problem.
Your goal is to collect 60 or more mangoes. We still recommend keeping the Frog Ring attached to Zelda, as quite a few flowers will grow on the platforms, and you can’t afford to miss them, or else you will not be able to hit the number required.
After finishing all three stages, you will be rewarded with a dancing outfit, increasing your spin area. This will be handy if you ever want to grind for tough mangoes in the future, as this outfit will make all three levels of Mango Rush significantly easier.
