How Many Areas Are in Pikmin 4?

Pikmin 4 is a pretty big game, and the way it handles its story and exploration may leave you wondering just how many areas there are. Essentially, they’re divided up into two groups. But by the time you finish the game, you’ll have visited six places on the planet.

So how many areas are in Pikmin 4?

There are six areas you get to explore in Pikmin 4. However, you can’t access them all at once. You need to gradually acquire treasures and repair your Rescue Corps rocket before more places unlock. Not to mention some only show up after a major story-based event.

So initially, you’ll unlock four areas in the first part of Pikmin 4. You start in Sun-Speckled Terrace. Once you advance the story and acquire treasures, you’ll unlock Blossoming Arcadia. Serene Shores opens up after that. Hero’s Hideaway is the last part of the first half portion of the game.

Once you complete Hero’s Hideaway and see a story sequence, the fifth area unlocks. That’s Giant’s Hearth. Once you finish it and find who you’re looking for there, Primordial Thicket becomes available.

What about Olimar’s Shipwreck Tale?

When playing as Olimar in Pikmin 4, you’ll only get to explore four areas to search for ship parts. These are the first four areas in the game. So as him, you’ll go through Sun-Speckled Terrace, Blossoming Arcadia, Serene Shores, and Hero’s Hideaway stages.

Pikmin 4 is available for the Nintendo Switch.
