Diablo 4, and the Vessel of Hatred expansion, like previous games has a campaign that attempts to build upon already established lore and narrative threads in the series. While it isn’t required to play in order to hop into Seasonal content, you might be interested in checking it out for one reason or another. This guide will tell you how long the Diablo 4 campaign is, along with the Vessel of Hatred expansion.
How Long is the Campaign in Diablo 4 and Vessel of Hatred Expansion
The campaign for the base game can be quite lengthy, especially if you’re starting off as a new player. Spanning a total of six acts, it can take you anywhere from 10 to 15 hours depending on the class and build you decide to pursue. During my first foray with the game I decided to roll with a Rogue and a poison build, which was admittedly pretty effective as I was able to down the final boss some twenty levels under what the game recommended. Now that may not be entirely possible, given the numerous adjustments Diablo 4 has seen. That said, some classes are certainly more efficient than others, and players may find that building their characters out through the course of the campaign may be easier than before. Especially with the changes made to how Affixes work.
Concerning the Vessel of Hatred expansion, it’s marginally shorter. It can clock in around 5 to 6 hours, depending on how fast you blaze through content, especially if your character is already decked out in Legendary or Unique items. I was surprised at how short the expansion was, but previous end game activities are now locked around the completion of Vessel of Hatred. The Pit being one example. This will take you a fair bit of time to unlock, especially if you haven’t already hit the level cap and started on your Paragon boards.
However, Blizzard Entertainment will be offering a campaign skip to players just wanting to jump directly into Seasonal content and have immediate access to some of the end game features. Which is great for those that aren’t exactly interested in the narrative Diablo 4 tries to weave. Sometimes you just want to see number go up!
Diablo 4Â and its expansion, Vessel of Hatred, are now available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
