How Long Is the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Campaign?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (COD MW3) is available as a pseudo-remake of the original and a follow-up to 2022’s title, and someone may wonder how long the campaign is. Especially since those with early access could be jumping in on November 3, 2023.

How long will it take me to beat the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 campaign

The answer to how long the MW3 campaign is may surprise you in the end. It took me around three and a half hours to complete the entire campaign from start to finish. Yes, that means I was able to beat it comfortably in an entire night’s sitting, and then go on to play other games and do other things with my free time.

This is by far the lightest campaign in the history of the Call of Duty franchise. The only game that beats this title is Black Ops 4, and that’s because it had no campaign in the first place. There is not a single other game in the series with a shorter length of time to beat it than this title. This likely comes from the fact this game was rushed and seen as DLC in a way.

How many missions are in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (COD MW3) campaign?

What may even surprise fans further than the how long the MW3 campaign, is has to do with how many missions there are. Surprisingly enough, there are actually 15 missions in total in the single-player story. This is roughly up there with the other games in the series, and yet it is much shorter than all of them.

This is partially due to the fact that most of the missions feature a DMZ and Warzone-like open area system. You have a few objectives to complete, and you can pretty much ignore most enemies if you want. This makes each mission beatable in a matter of moments, rather than the 30 minutes to hour-long ventures in past titles.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
