How Does Serpent’s Embrace Affect Starfield Shattered Space?

Serpent’s Embrace is one of the many traits players can pick for their character in Starfield. As you may know, this trait affects the player’s alignment with House Va’ruun. Given House Va’ruun’s central role in the Starfield Shattered Space DLC, it has some players wondering if it is better to have Serpent’s Embrace as their trait.

Starfield Serpent’s Embrace, Explained

Serpent’s Embrace is one of the many traits players can pick for their character in the character creation screen. It notes that you grew up worshiping the Great Serpent of House Va’ruun. As such, you get one bonus for your character and a negative to balance it out. The bonus buff is you get a temporary boost to your health and oxygen when you grav jump.

However, if you go too long without grav jumping in the galaxy, you will then get a penalty to your HP and oxygen. So, it is a risk and reward type of system. Before, this was not one of my recommended traits to players. However, it’s a different story with this DLC. After all, the entire expansion focuses on House Va’ruun.

Does Serpent’s Embrace Affect Starfield Shattered Space?

Is it worth getting Serpent’s Embrace for the Starfield Shattered Space DLC? I would say yes, if you are starting over with a new character. Otherwise, it is not worth restarting just for this trait. This trait does affect the DLC but not in a huge way where you are totally missing out on content if you don’t have it.

Instead, what Serpent’s Embrace does is give you unique dialogue choices other players won’t see without it. This starts from the moment you arrive on the House Va’ruun planet and it continues throughout the storyline. That said, I don’t think the new dialogue options are so different that other players are missing out. You just get neat little banter and quips every once in a while.
