Honkai: Star Rail Animated Short Stars Jing Yuan and His Mentor

HoYoVerse promised an anime-like animated short involving Honkai: Star Rail five-star character Jing Yuan, and it’s now live. People can view it online or download it. Not only that, but it features his mentor Jingliu, another person from Xianzhou Luofu. However, HoYoVerse hasn’t announced if she’ll be playable yet.

The four and a half minute long short covers multiple phases of Jing Yuan’s life. It begins with a look at more recent events, as he heads to see Jingliu. It’s then that he experiences a flashback to when he first met his “master.” As the two duel, we see how she helped him train and become the general we see in the Xianzhou Luofu portion of the storyline. The video also offers a bit of a brief explanation of mara, which players encounter when on the starship.

At the very end, we see Jing Yuan with his own apprentice, Yanqing. We then see how his past shaped him as a result.

Honkai: Star Rail is available for PCs and mobile devices, and the Jing Yuan banner arrives on May 17, 2023.
