Although the downloadable zip file is available at 1.1 GB, players have to make sure that their PC has at least 8 GB of free space to contain the whole game. This game requires at least DirectX 11 and 8 GB RAM. The minimum requirements for CPU specify an Intel Core i7-3770 or AMD FX 9370, while an NVidia GeForce GTX760 or AMD Radeon HD 7750 acts as the minimum supported GPU.

Cover revealed Hololive Error for the first time in August 2021. This project would tell a school horror story featuring Hololive VTubers through various kinds of media. The company had also published several videos showcasing the project, including 360-degree panorama videos and a live stream with 3D character performances.

For people who are not into the horror genre, Cover is also working on Holoearth, a sandbox world exploration game where players can have avatars based on Hololive VTubers. The company will release Holoearth for PCs first, with mobile devices following afterward.

The Hololive Error horror game free version is now available to download on PCs. As of this writing, the game officially only supports the Japanese language.
