Hideo Kojima Teases New Project on Twitter

Hideo Kojima has teased the start of a new project through his Twitter account. However, as of writing, he hasn’t provide much information regarding the project. Instead, all that he has revealed thus far is a a desktop icon titled “新企画,” or “New Project” in Japanese. In December 2021, Kojima revealed that Kojima Productions has been working on two new games. There is the possibility that this new project Hideo Kojima is teasing is one of the games in development. In the issue of Famitsu where Kojima announced Kojima Productions is working on two separate projects, he revealed that one project was “big,” while the other was “challenging.” However, this wasn’t the only major development to appear in 2021 for Kojima Productions.

In November 2021, Kojima Productions opened a new creative division in Los Angeles. The focus for this division is not games, however. It will instead focus on television, film, and music. The new division was created with the intention to expand the scope of the company, according to Kojima Productions’ business development manager Yoshiko Fukada. The studio currently has plans to create narratives outside of the video game medium. The company has yet to reveal any details regarding any potential projects led by the Los Angeles division.
